On the 8 July Sydney Community Group  (SCG) proudly hosted a Cultural Fusion, an event called SPACEWALK which was held at Castle Hill RSL. The event was attended by whos and whos of Sydney. Graced by Hills Shire Mayor Dr Peter Gangemi, MP for Castle Hill Mr Mark Hodges, Hornsby Shire Councillor Mr Sreeni Pillamarri and Strathfield Council Councillor Ms Sandy Reddy.

 
Spacewalk combined the imagination and artistry of fashion with the majesty and wonder of various Indian Weaves. It created a unique and unforgettable experience for attendees, blurring the lines between fashion, art, and entertainment. The highlights of the event was the stunning fashion show, which featured designs inspired by different states of India. The models adorned sarees curated by Poornima Menon of Five Pleats, gracefully showcased them, beautifully combining traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics. The choice of music and choreography enhanced the overall experience, creating an immersive and captivating runway presentation. Beyond the fashion show, the event offered a range of cultural experiences. Music was craftily curated by Charou Ram and his group, where as the cultural segment was displayed by Jada Maya, Bollywood Dance Company, Ruchi Sanghi and here team, Abirami Natya Shastra, Kannada Kweens, Gargi Goi and the Kashmir Pandit Association.
 

The event organized by Sydney Community Group ,  did a commendable job in curating an inclusive and diverse lineup of weaves, ensuring that a multitude of cultures were represented. The fusion of fashion and cultural elements created a space that celebrated individual identities and fostered cross-cultural appreciation.

The event was a fundraiser for Country Womens Association Hornsby, supporting their vision and beliefs.

The highlight of the event was craftily planted as Influencers round where SCG acknowledged many achievers in the community. Ms Jodi Mckay, Ms Melissa Monterrio, Ms Reena Jethi, Ms Arti Banga, Ms Niyati Mehta, Ms Emie Roy, Mrs Bharati Renga and Mr Renga Rajan. Ms Samyuta Pillamarri and Ms Haran Anusha.

The entire event was beautifully narrated by Sydney’s two famous Master of Ceremonies- Ms Emie Roy and Mr Wayne Aguiar.

Kudos to SCG board, Charity ambassadors and the Events Director Manjula Viswanath,  for the meticulous planning, thoughtful curation and commitment to create an unforgettable cultural experience to a housefull packed audience of close to 300.
