Pink Sari Inc. is pleased to announce the hosting of a Cancer Awareness Walk on 9th February 2025, at Jubilee Park, Harris Park, in honor of World Cancer Day. The walk will take place from 4pm to 6pm and aims to raise awareness about cancer, cancer screening, and person-centred care within the health system and the broader community. This year’s event is inspired by the new World Cancer Day campaign 2025-27 theme: “United by Unique”.
The event will serve as a platform for individuals, families, and communities to come together, amplify the voices of those affected by cancer, and support the ongoing fight against the disease.
Mrs. Shantha Viswanathan, President of Pink Sari Inc., expressed the significance of this event, saying, “People living with cancer may not always feel heard or understood. They might feel isolated and voiceless at a time when they are navigating an unfamiliar health system, while also experiencing emotional turmoil during cancer diagnosis and treatment.”
Mrs. Viswanathan emphasized the mission of the event: “We strive to make their voices heard, and our World Cancer Day march is one such movement.”
The Cancer Awareness Walk invites everyone to participate by wearing bright pink or other cancer awareness ribbon colours, showing solidarity for the cause, and championing the message of support. Participants will join a powerful community of advocates to highlight the importance of cancer awareness, prevention, and the need for a compassionate, person-centred approach to care.
