Watch out for scam agents offering to help you lodge a Protection Visa (subclass 866).

Unlawful providers of immigration assistance often advertise on social media and online chat groups.

They sometimes tell applicants to give false and misleading information in their Protection Visa application, and some charge a lot of money for this incorrect and misleading advice.

Don’t risk being scammed by unregistered migration providers, or breaking the law by providing false information. If you are thinking about applying for a Protection visa, you should access the free legal advice from a specialist refugee and immigration legal provider first.

If you are thinking about applying for a Protection visa, we strongly encourage you to get free legal help from a specialist refugee and immigration legal provider in your state or territory before you apply. The legal provider in South Australia is the Legal Services Commission of South Australia
