The second-string West Indian team beat Australia in Australia at the Gabba and levelled the series 1-1. Who would have thought about this when West Indies announced their squad with many new faces and a lack of superstars?

As expected, Australia won the first test match with ten wickets but the young gun Shamar Joseph impressed everyone, with five wickets on his debut, and Steven Smith was the first victim, Joseph also scored 36 runs, batting at number eleven.

The second test made the whole world talk when the man who was retired hurt on the night before, could not walk and was not meant to play on the fourth day of the test match, ended up playing and bowled one of the best spells in the test match history to win the match single-handedly for west Indians.

When West Indies lost the first 5 wickets in just 64 runs on the first day of the test match, it was expected to be the one-sided test match and the series, from there to score 311 runs in the first innings, and after that defending 216 runs was a remarkable effort indeed.

Australian Cricket captain Pat Cummins appreciates the west Indian young talent by exchanging the T-shirts and posted on Instagram.

“I WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE TO PLAY FOR THE WEST INDIES, NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY COMES TOWARDS ME, I WILL ALWAYS BE HERE TO PLAY TEST CRICKET.” – Says Shamar Joseph.
