A Spiritual & Cultural Celebration of Community, Harmony, and Timeless Wisdom

Sydney, Australia – The internationally acclaimed Gita Mahotsav will return to Sydney on 3–4 May 2025, promising another unforgettable celebration of culture, community, and spiritual wisdom. Following the success of its 2023 edition, this year’s festival is themed “From Knowledge to Practice: The Gita in Daily Life”, exploring how the ancient teachings of the Bhagavad Gita continue to offer guidance and strength in modern life.

A Global Festival with Sacred Origins

The International Gita Mahotsav (IGM) began as an annual spiritual celebration in Kurukshetra, India—the sacred land where the Gita was revealed. Today, it has evolved into a global movement, with festivals held in the UK, Canada, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, and Australia, under the guidance of Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj.

In 2023, Sydney made history with its grand-scale celebration involving over 65 organisations, including spiritual, cultural, and social groups. Highlights included the presentation of the Bhagavad Gita at both the Australian Federal Parliament and the NSW State Parliament, along with a spectacular evening Gita Arti at Parramatta River Foreshore attended by more than 7,500 people.
