On 23 August 2026, history will quietly-but powerfully-be made in India.
For the first time, 108 girl students from 108 countries, each accompanied by a national Ambassador, will come together on Indian soil to build a real satellite as part of Mission ShakthiSAT-a global, all-girls space mission that is redefining what unity, education, and hope can look like in today’s world.

Each country will be represented by one girl. Each girl will represent millions of dreams.
Hosted in India and supported at the highest national level, these students will collaboratively build 4, 1U Cube Satellite, marking the start of the actual satellite-building phase of Mission ShakthiSAT. But what they are constructing goes far beyond technology.
They are building trust across borders. They are building friendship across cultures.
They are building peace through knowledge.
What is a 1U Cube Satellite?
A 1U Cube Satellite (CubeSat) is a small, standardized satellite about the size of a 10 cm × 10 cm × 10 cm cube-roughly the size of a Rubik’s Cube. Despite its small size, it contains all the essential systems of a full-scale satellite, including power, communication, computing, and payload instruments.

1U CubeSats are widely used by space agencies and universities around the world because they make space exploration more affordable, accessible, and faster to develop, allowing students and researchers to turn ideas into real space missions.
More Than a Satellite – A Global Movement
Mission ShakthiSAT is not just about space science. It is about rewriting the global narrative-one where young girls from different religions, languages, economies, and continents sit at the same table, learn together, and create something meaningful for humanity.
The Director and Founder of the Mission – Dr.Srimathy Kesan says : “At a time when the world is often divided by conflict and fear, this mission stands as a reminder that education can unite where politics cannot.”

These girls-aged between 14 and 18-will have already completed 120 hours of free, intensive STEM training, covering Physics, Mathematics, Coding, Ham Radio, and PCB Design. Now, they will transform that learning into action by building a satellite that symbolises solidarity, sisterhood, and shared responsibility for our planet.
Why India, Why Now
India, a nation that has long championed peaceful space exploration and inclusive education, becomes the meeting ground for this historic moment. As the host country, India will welcome these young global ambassadors not just as students, but as future leaders of a more compassionate world.
This gathering is a statement:
That science can be kind. That technology can be inclusive. That the future can be built by young women working together, not against one another.

A Message to the World
Mission ShakthiSAT sends a simple but powerful message to every household, every classroom, and every child watching from afar:
Talent is everywhere. Opportunity must be too.
When girls from 108 countries build a satellite together, they prove that peace is not an abstract idea-it is something we can design, build, and launch together.
On 23 August 2026, the world will not just witness the start of a satellite mission.
It will witness the rise of a global sisterhood-one that believes knowledge, collaboration, and empathy can make our planet a better place to live.

The Mission is being supported by the AIMERS Foundation – which is registered under the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission(ACNC).
