This October, music lovers across Australia and New Zealand are in for a nostalgic treat as one of India’s most iconic voices, Lucky Ali, returns with his much-anticipated Journey Through the Decades tour. Known for his husky voice, soulful lyrics, and timeless melodies, Ali is set to transport audiences through a musical journey that spans decades of his celebrated career.
The tour kicks off at Norwood Concert Hall in Adelaide on October 3, before heading to the iconic Sydney Opera House on October 6, followed by Northcote Theatre in Melbourne on October 10, and wrapping up at Auckland’s Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre on October 12.
A Musical Reunion with Fans
“It’s always a joy to share my music with audiences who have embraced it across time and distance,” says Lucky Ali. “Returning to Australia and New Zealand feels like reconnecting with old friends. Performing at the iconic Sydney Opera House is a dream every artist carries, and to experience that in such a beautiful country is truly humbling. I’m equally honoured to be part of the BNZ Diwali function in Auckland, celebrating the spirit and colours of our shared culture. I look forward to creating moments that we can carry in our hearts for years to come.”

A Legacy of Soulful Music
Born Maqsood Mahmood Ali, Lucky Ali has carved a reputation as one of India’s most distinctive and beloved singer-songwriters. His breakthrough came in 1996 with his debut album Sunoh and its unforgettable single O Sanam, a track that went on to become one of the most enduring Indian pop songs of all time.
Blending folk, pop, and acoustic influences, Ali’s music is instantly recognisable — a blend of introspection, melody, and emotion that transcends time. His albums Sunoh, Sifar, and Aks remain landmarks of Indian pop, while his hits like Gori Teri Aankhen, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Ek Pal Ka Jeena, and Safarnama continue to be cultural touchstones across generations.
More Than Just a Singer
Lucky Ali’s artistry extends beyond independent music. His playback singing for Bollywood left an indelible mark, with tracks like Na Tum Jaano Na Hum and Ek Pal Ka Jeena from Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai earning him a Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer. He has also acted in several films, including Sur – The Melody of Life, Kaante, and Kasak, showcasing his creative versatility.
The Soundtrack of Generations
Lucky Ali’s ballad-style singing and thought-provoking lyrics often explore themes of freedom, loneliness, and the wanderings of the soul. For audiences, his songs are not just music but moments of nostalgia and authenticity — emotional anchors across decades.
