Sukhjinder Singh, the Greens candidate for Chifley, is stepping into the political arena with a powerful message: the people of Chifley deserve a voice that truly understands and represents them. A proud resident of the Blacktown LGA, Singh is no stranger to the challenges his community faces—and he’s ready to fight for real, people-powered change.

“It’s Time Our Community Was Truly Heard”
Singh’s motivation to run is deeply personal. As a migrant and person of colour who has experienced systemic inequality firsthand, he speaks from lived experience.
“My family, friends, and neighbours—we all face the same daily struggles,” Singh says. “What inspired me is simple: I want to fight for a future where dignity, fairness, and compassion aren’t just buzzwords, but the foundation of every policy.”
For Singh, representing Chifley isn’t about political ambition—it’s about giving back to a community that has shaped him.

Chifley at a Crossroads: The Key Issues
According to Singh, the 2025 election comes at a critical moment for Chifley. He points to a convergence of crises—rising costs of living, the housing emergency, and the accelerating climate crisis—as the most pressing issues impacting the region.
“Families are breaking under the pressure of skyrocketing costs—groceries, rent, bills—while wages stagnate,” he explains. “Housing has gone from being a basic right to a distant dream. And the climate crisis is already hitting Western Sydney with hotter summers and poor air quality.”
He stresses that these problems are deeply interconnected, and that they hit marginalised communities the hardest.
“First Nations people, migrants, and young people are being left behind, over-policed, and underrepresented. We need urgent, honest, community-first solutions.”

A Vision for Change: Singh’s Top Priorities for Chifley
If elected, Singh has a clear agenda built on justice, equality, and sustainability. His top three goals for the electorate are:
- Affordable Housing for All
Singh aims to tackle the housing crisis head-on by advocating for public and genuinely affordable housing—not more subsidies for developers. “Everyone deserves a safe, stable place to live.” - Real Cost-of-Living Relief
From free public healthcare to cheaper public transport and better wages, Singh wants to ease the everyday pressures on working families. “No one should have to choose between heating their home and feeding their kids.” - Climate Action with Justice at Its Heart
Singh is calling for an end to coal and gas handouts, a rapid shift to clean energy, and meaningful support for workers during the transition. “We protect people and the planet—together.”

Standing Up for Chifley
Chifley, Singh says, is a region full of hardworking, diverse, and compassionate people who just want a fair go. His campaign is built on the belief that real change starts at the grassroots—with people, not corporations or political insiders.
“This community has looked after me. Now it’s my turn to stand up and fight for all of us.”
With Sukhjinder Singh on the ballot, Chifley voters have a chance to send a message: it’s time for politics that puts people—and the planet—first.
