The officials met at Lot Fourteen, South Australia’s prominent innovation and technology precinct, where they discussed developments within the space industries of both countries and exchanged views on the direction of their respective space sectors.

Their discussions examined the broader space ecosystems in India and Australia, with a focus on identifying areas where the two countries could expand collaboration and build stronger connections across the sector.

The meeting comes as India and Australia continue to broaden their partnership in science, technology and emerging industries. Space is increasingly part of that wider engagement, with opportunities spanning government agencies, research organisations and private-sector participants.

Singh and Palermo also considered potential areas for future cooperation and ways the bilateral space relationship could be further developed. However, no new agreements, funding arrangements or specific initiatives were announced following the Adelaide meeting.

The discussion provided an opportunity for senior representatives from both countries to exchange perspectives on developments within their respective space industries and consider where their interests may align.

For India and Australia, closer cooperation in space could create opportunities for greater engagement across research, technology and innovation. Both countries have been developing broader links in emerging technologies, creating a foundation for further discussions in specialised sectors.

The Adelaide meeting reflects the continued effort by Indian and Australian officials to identify practical areas for cooperation as the bilateral relationship expands beyond traditional areas of engagement.

While the latest discussions did not result in a specific new initiative, the meeting between Nagesh Singh and Dr Enrico Palermo signals continued interest in developing stronger institutional links and exploring future opportunities across the India-Australia space relationship.
