The world witnessed a historic moment on January 16, 2025, as Mission ShakthiSAT, an all-female-led lunar spacecraft project, launched amidst global anticipation and applause. Hosted by Space Kidz India (SKI), this groundbreaking mission aims to inspire and empower young women across the globe to explore the boundless opportunities in space science and technology.
The launch event, attended by over 350 dignitaries from 108 countries, was a monumental step in promoting inclusivity and innovation in the aerospace sector.
Among the many influential figures, Australia’s very own – Sukruti Narayanan, Head of Global Partnerships for Mission ShakthiSat, stood out for her pivotal role in fostering global collaboration.
This Mission has appointed 2 women leaders representing Australia as the CoAmbassadors. Priya – An expert in AI & BI along with Sukruti Narayanan, Tech Entrepreneur and past President of Robotics & Artificial Intelligence Foundation, march together to reach out to 108 girl students across the 6 states and 2 territories of Australia.

Empowering Women in Space ShakthiSAT, developed by SKI, is the world’s first all-girls lunar spacecraft. It represents a bold leap forward in empowering young women to take on leadership roles in STEM fields. SKI, a trailblazing aerospace startup based in India, has gained international recognition for its innovative satellite launches, including the historic AzaadiSAT, which engaged 750 rural high school students in satellite development. Dr. Srimathy Kesan, Founder and CEO of Space Kidz India, emphasized the mission’s vision:
