During Modi’s July visit, Albanese joined the Indian Prime Minister at a large community gathering in Melbourne, underscoring the role of Australians with Indian heritage in strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
The connection between the two nations is increasingly visible across Australian society, from business and education to professional services, science, sport and cultural life. Government leaders have repeatedly pointed to these community links as an important foundation for the broader partnership, with the July leaders’ summit describing people-to-people connections as a central element of bilateral ties.
