Two Indian-origin cricketers have taken significant steps forward in Australian cricket after being selected in prestigious Cricket Australia pathway squads. Jerrssis Wadia has earned a place in the Cricket Australia XI, while Aryan Sharma has been named in Australia’s Men’s Development Squad for an upcoming tour of India.
Mumbai-born Jerrssis Wadia will represent the Cricket Australia XI in a three-day red-ball match against Bangladesh in Darwin from 6 to 8 August. The fixture will serve as an important warm-up match for Bangladesh ahead of their Test series against Australia.
Wadia’s selection continues an impressive rise through Australian cricket. After moving to Australia as a teenager to pursue his cricketing ambitions, he progressed through South Australia’s pathway programs before earning a full state contract and securing a place with the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League.
The talented all-rounder made headlines during the recent BBL season with several eye-catching performances for the Adelaide Strikers, showcasing his ability with both bat and ball. His inclusion in the Cricket Australia XI is another important milestone in his rapidly developing career.
