Residents across Western Sydney are set to benefit from major road upgrades following a new funding commitment announced by Anne Stanley as part of the Albanese Government’s latest Federal Budget.

The Government will invest an additional $300 million towards critical road infrastructure projects in the electorate of Werriwa, with funding directed towards upgrades on Fifteenth Avenue and Elizabeth Drive.

According to Ms Stanley, the Albanese Government has committed an additional $200 million for the Fifteenth Avenue Liverpool to Airport Transit Corridor. This builds on the previously announced $500 million commitment, bringing the Government’s total investment in the project to $700 million.

The latest Federal Budget also includes an additional $100 million for the Elizabeth Drive Priority Sections Upgrade, adding to the existing Commonwealth contribution of $400 million.

Ms Stanley said the investment comes at a crucial time for Western Sydney, particularly with the opening of the Western Sydney International Airport expected later this year.

“This is great news for our community of Werriwa, and I’m delighted that Minister Catherine King has listened to my calls to continue to support our local infrastructure,” Ms Stanley said.

She added that the upgrades would help ease congestion and improve daily life for local residents.

“Residents will spend less time on the roads and more time at home with their families,” she said.

The infrastructure funding is expected to support improved traffic flow, strengthen transport connections across Western Sydney and prepare the region for increased activity linked to the new airport development.
