The 2026 Gold Gala became a major showcase for Indian fashion, with several international celebrities stepping onto the red carpet in creations by leading Indian designers.
Hosted annually by Gold House in Los Angeles, the prestigious event celebrates influential voices across entertainment, fashion, media and culture. This year, Indian couture emerged as one of the defining style stories of the evening, reflecting the growing global influence of South Asian design.
At the centre of the conversation was global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who wore a striking custom couture creation by acclaimed Indian designer Amit Aggarwal. The sculptural ensemble incorporated a 20 year old chikankari saree from Lucknow, transforming traditional Indian craftsmanship into a bold contemporary red carpet statement.
The look received widespread praise online and was widely regarded as one of the standout fashion moments of the gala.
Indian fashion influence could also be seen across several other celebrity appearances throughout the evening. Actress and producer Mindy Kaling brought understated elegance to the red carpet in a design by celebrated Indian designer Anita Dongre.
Meanwhile, singer Halsey and actor Avan Jogia drew attention with their coordinated looks by renowned Indian couturier Rahul Mishra, creating one of the evening’s most talked about fashion pairings.
Singer Armaan Malik also represented Indian fashion on the red carpet, wearing a statement look by designer duo Falguni Peacock and Shane Peacock of Falguni Shane Peacock.
For many across the South Asian diaspora, moments like these carry significance beyond fashion alone. They reflect a broader cultural shift where Indian craftsmanship, heritage textiles and couture artistry are increasingly being embraced on some of the world’s biggest entertainment platforms.
From Bollywood stars to Hollywood celebrities, Indian designers are no longer simply participating in global fashion conversations. They are helping shape them.
