Western Australia’s multicultural communities have several new opportunities to connect, participate and access support, with initiatives currently open across employment, cultural performance and family arts activities.
From a free jobs expo for culturally and linguistically diverse job seekers, to performance opportunities with the City of Perth and financial support for families to access arts and cultural events, the latest community initiatives offer practical benefits for people across WA.
City of Perth seeking multicultural performers
Culturally and linguistically diverse performance groups are being invited to express interest in performing as part of the City of Perth’s 2026–27 summer events program.
The opportunity is open to cultural dance groups, musicians, performers and community organisations interested in showcasing traditional or contemporary performances before wider Perth audiences.
Major upcoming opportunities include the Perth Multicultural Festival on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November 2026, as well as Australia Day activities on Tuesday 26 January 2027.
Groups submitting an expression of interest will be asked to provide information about their cultural background, proposed performance, number of performers and any technical or staging requirements.
Applicants may also provide photographs, videos or social media links demonstrating previous performances.
The opportunity could be particularly relevant for Indian and South Asian cultural organisations, dance academies, musicians and community groups looking to showcase their traditions within Perth’s wider multicultural events program.
The City of Perth advises that submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee selection, with applications assessed according to event requirements, diversity and programming needs.
Applications close Friday, 4 September 2026.
Free CaLD Jobs Expo coming to Mirrabooka
Job seekers from culturally and linguistically diverse communities will also have an opportunity to connect directly with employers, recruiters, training organisations and employment support services at the upcoming CaLD Jobs Expo.
The free event will be held on Wednesday, 16 September 2026 from 10am to 1pm at Stirling Leisure – Mirrabooka, 38 Ashbury Crescent, Mirrabooka.
The expo is designed to help multicultural job seekers explore employment opportunities and better understand pathways into the Western Australian workforce.
Attendees will be able to speak with employers and recruiters, learn about available jobs, connect with training providers and access information about employment support services.
The event may be especially useful for newly arrived migrants, skilled professionals seeking to enter the Australian workforce, people looking for their first local employment opportunity and those considering a change of career.
Attendance is free, however registration is required.
WA families can access up to $200 in arts vouchers
Western Australian families can also access financial assistance through the latest round of the Kids Access All Areas Vouchers program.
Eligible parents and guardians can reserve a $50 voucher for each child aged between 5 and 15, with vouchers available for up to four children.
This means an eligible family with four children could access up to $200 in total support.
The program is designed to help families access paid arts and cultural experiences across Western Australia while also supporting the state’s creative sector.
Eligible experiences can include:
- Theatre
- Dance
- Live music
- Comedy
- Circus
- Exhibitions, including Scitech
More than 100 participating venues and providers are included in the program.
Round Two opened on 27 August 2026 and is available until 31 May 2027, or until all available vouchers have been reserved.
To be eligible, applicants must be Western Australian residents aged 18 or over and the parent or legal guardian of an eligible child aged between 5 and 15.
Families can generally reserve their vouchers through the ServiceWA app, purchase tickets from an approved provider and then submit their claim using the relevant tax invoice.
The vouchers cannot be used for expenses including food and beverages, merchandise, workshops or classes, movie tickets, AFL tickets, school-organised activities or events offered by providers outside the approved program.

Together, these initiatives provide a mix of employment, cultural and family opportunities for Western Australia’s increasingly diverse population.
Community organisations and performance groups interested in participating in City of Perth events are encouraged to apply before the September deadline, while job seekers can register for the upcoming Mirrabooka expo and eligible families can explore the arts voucher program through official WA Government channels.
