Legendary Nepali climbers Kami Rita Sherpa and Lhakpa Sherpa have once again rewritten mountaineering history after breaking their own records for the highest number of successful ascents of Mount Everest. Their latest achievements have further cemented their status among the world’s most celebrated high-altitude climbers.

Kami Rita Sherpa reached the summit of Mount Everest for the 31st time, extending his own world record as the person with the most successful climbs of the world’s tallest mountain. The veteran climber, often referred to as the “Everest Man,” achieved the milestone while guiding an expedition team during Nepal’s current climbing season.

The 55-year-old Sherpa has spent decades working in the Himalayan mountaineering industry and remains one of the most experienced Everest guides in history. At the same time, Lhakpa Sherpa also strengthened her place in mountaineering history by recording her 11th successful summit of Mount Everest, maintaining her title as the woman with the highest number of Everest climbs in the world. Born in Nepal and later moving to the United States, Lhakpa Sherpa has become internationally recognised not only for her climbing achievements but also for overcoming significant personal and financial struggles throughout her journey.
