Australia’s first new city in over a century is taking shape, with the NSW Government officially launching the “Built for what’s next” campaign to position Bradfield City as a global hub for innovation, industry and opportunity.

Located alongside the upcoming Western Sydney International Airport, Bradfield City is being designed as a future-ready destination, combining advanced infrastructure, skilled workforce access and strong global connectivity to attract businesses and investors.

A New Chapter for Investment and Innovation

As part of the launch, new Expressions of Interest have opened for businesses looking to establish themselves within the 3.8-hectare Enterprise Precinct, located next to the city’s first operational facility – the Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility (AMRF).

The government is targeting high-growth sectors including aerospace, clean technology, advanced manufacturing, defence, logistics, education, agtech and semiconductor industries – positioning Bradfield as a centre for cutting-edge innovation.

Building a City for the Future

Bradfield City is envisioned to deliver 10,000 new homes and 20,000 jobs, creating a thriving, connected community in the heart of Western Sydney. To support this growth, planning processes have been streamlined through a dedicated state-led pathway, aimed at accelerating development while ensuring long-term sustainability.

Further progress is already underway, including partnerships with major developers such as Plenary, which is leading transformation efforts across key precincts.

Major Milestones Already Achieved

Over the past two years, the project has seen significant advancements. The opening of the Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility marked a key milestone, while early infrastructure works have prepared more than a third of the city for development.

Plans are also progressing for a second major building and a two-hectare Central Park, both expected to begin construction soon. Additionally, Bradfield has been identified as the future site of Australia’s first commercial semiconductor advanced packaging facility – a move that reinforces its role in critical technology sectors.

The broader Western Sydney Aerotropolis is also gaining momentum, with over $21.6 billion worth of projects currently in the pipeline.

A Vision for Western Sydney’s Growth

Deputy Premier Prue Car highlighted that Bradfield City sits at the centre of efforts to create new opportunities in jobs, education and infrastructure for the region’s growing population.

Meanwhile, Planning Minister Paul Scully described the project as a major milestone, emphasising its potential to attract forward-thinking industries and establish a globally connected economic hub.

Shaping Australia’s Next Great City

More than just a development project, Bradfield City represents a long-term vision for Australia’s future – one that integrates innovation, sustainability and economic growth.

With strong government backing, growing private investment and a strategic location at the gateway of international connectivity, Bradfield is poised to become a cornerstone of Australia’s next era of urban and industrial development.

As opportunities continue to open, the message is clear – Bradfield City is ready for what comes next.
