Hornsby Shire is preparing to host one of its most vibrant multicultural celebrations as Taste of Harmony 2026 brings together food, music and cultural traditions from around the world. The free community festival will showcase the rich diversity of the region, offering residents and visitors an immersive cultural experience this September.

Presented by Hornsby Shire Council, the festival will take place on Saturday, 19 September 2026, from 11am to 8pm at Hornsby Park Gardens, located outside the Hornsby Aquatic and Leisure Centre. The full-day event is expected to attract families and multicultural communities from across Sydney.
Food lovers will be treated to an international culinary experience, with vendors serving authentic dishes from a variety of cultures. Visitors can look forward to flavours from South Indian, Middle Eastern, German, Malaysian, Southern American, Northern Chinese, Korean and Taiwanese cuisines throughout the day.

The entertainment program promises a colourful celebration of global traditions, featuring live performances representing cultures from India, Iran, South America, Africa, Brazil, Korea, China and several other regions. Music, dance and cultural showcases will create a lively festival atmosphere from morning until evening.
Families attending the festival can enjoy a range of free activities designed for all age groups. Cultural workshops will provide hands-on learning opportunities, while face painting and dedicated children’s activities will ensure younger visitors are entertained throughout the event.

Hornsby Shire Mayor Warren Waddell said Taste of Harmony is an opportunity to celebrate the traditions, stories and cultural heritage that make the local community unique. He highlighted the importance of bringing people together through shared experiences that promote inclusion and understanding.
Mayor Waddell noted that the festival offers something for everyone, whether visitors are trying a new cuisine, experiencing performances from different cultures or simply enjoying a day out with family and friends in a welcoming community environment.

Taste of Harmony forms part of Hornsby Shire Council’s ongoing commitment to strengthening multiculturalism and fostering greater cultural appreciation across the region. The event aims to encourage meaningful connections while celebrating the diversity that continues to shape modern Australia.
The festival is proudly supported by funding from the NSW Government, reflecting a broader commitment to supporting community initiatives that promote cultural inclusion and social cohesion throughout New South Wales.

With free entry, world-class cultural experiences and an exciting line-up of food and entertainment, Taste of Harmony 2026 is set to become a must-attend event on Sydney’s multicultural calendar. Residents and visitors are encouraged to mark their calendars and experience the many cultures that make Hornsby Shire such a vibrant and welcoming community.
